Enjoy a seasonal 3-course truffle brunch at the family estate after the hunt. Begin your adventure in Motovun, a hilltop town surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and dense oak forests rich in hidden treasures. This is the home of Miro Tartufi, a family-run truffle business deeply rooted in Istrian tradition. You’ll be welcomed with a drink and a tasting of three types of homemade rakija, followed by a walk into the Motovun forest with our truffle-hunting dogs, guided by an experienced tartufar. We’ll pass through our family’s truffle plantation and continue into the wild forest — one of the original truffle-hunting grounds of Istria. As a food anthropologist, I love sharing not just how truffles are found, but the stories, rituals, and cultural meaning behind this mysterious delicacy. You’ll learn how truffles grow, how our dogs are trained, and why they’ve been treasured here for generations. After the hunt, we return to the estate for a freshly prepared three-course truffle brunch, served in our open-air kitchen with a stunning view of Motovun. Menu includes: Starter: Truffle spreads, cheeses, sausage, truffle salt & oils, rustic bread Main course: Scrambled eggs with fresh truffles (join in if you like!) Dessert: Rich chocolate truffle cake with local honey and shaved black truffle All ingredients are fresh, local and seasonal, and our truffles are hunted and harvested daily by our family.
