Piran: SUP Tour with Old Town Views & Marine Farm

Your adventure begins in the heart of historic Piran, where you’ll meet the HaloSUP team for a brief introduction. As you push off into the Adriatic, you’ll immediately witness the most iconic view of the Slovenian coast: the medieval walls and the Venetian architecture of Piran rising directly from the sea. Paddling past the Church of St. George and the Cape Madona lighthouse, you’ll experience the town’s charm far from the crowded streets. The journey continues along the scenic coastline towards the bay of Fiesa. Here, the high cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop as we head toward the Strunjan Landscape Park. Along the way, we’ll take a break for a refreshing snorkeling session. Dive into the crystal-clear water to discover the vibrant marine life of the northern Adriatic, including colorful fish and seagrass meadows. A unique highlight of the tour is a visit to a local marine farm. You’ll paddle right by the floating buoys and learn how traditional mussel breeding works in these clean, protected waters. It’s a rare chance to see sustainable local traditions from a paddleboard perspective. The tour concludes in Strunjan, where we exit the water right next to the world-famous Strunjan salt pans. While the salt fields are hidden from view while paddling, they are located just steps away from our finish point. After we pack up the boards, we highly recommend taking a stroll through this 1,000-year-old landscape. It’s a peaceful, must-see cultural monument and the perfect way to end your active day of exploration.
