Begin your adventure by meeting your guide at the Visitor Centre. Head to the natural entrance and make your way through the first tunnel. Descend 500 steps to the main chamber, at a depth of 100 meters. Admire the majestic “Grande Caverna” (The Great Cavern), which is world-renowned for its exceptional dimensions. Take a moment to enjoy the beauty and the magic of the surroundings. Reach the deepest point of the tour, located at a depth of 101.10 meters from the entrance. Cross an expanse of thousands of limestone formations, while your guide introduces you to the knowledge of the underground world. Learn about the formation and evolution of karst cavities and discover the characteristics of the main speleothems (stalactites, stalagmites, columns). Begin your ascent on a panoramic staircase that offers remarkable views back into the cave. With its 500 steps, the “Carlo Finocchiaro” stairway is suitable for all ages. There are solid handrails all along the stairway and every step is covered with anti-slip material. Take your time to catch your breath, rest, and enjoy the magnificent views. At the top of the path, a large artificial tunnel leads you to the “Belvedere,” a balcony overlooking the Great Cavern from a height of 95 meters. A short cave tunnel then takes you to the exit, a natural opening near the parking area, which is located approximately 100 meters from the Visitor Centre.
