Description

This Piran and Slovenian coast tour from Trieste takes about six hours: a drive along the coast, a walk through Piran and a tasting of local food and wine.

This Piran and Slovenian coast tour crosses the border from Trieste for a day by the Adriatic, with pick-up at your hotel or the port and a driver who also acts as your guide. The first stop is Piran, one of the oldest and prettiest towns in Slovenia, and the whole day lasts around six hours.

On Tartini Square stands the bronze statue of the composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini. His former home can be visited, and one of his violins is on show. Around the square rise the Municipal Palace and the Maritime Museum, while the Church of Saint George gives a panoramic outlook. Strolling the narrow streets, you pass fishing nets hung out and compact houses.

After Piran the road follows the shore through Portorož, Izola and Koper, with the guide explaining what each town is known for. A coastal viewpoint shows the natural salt pans of Sečovlje, and local food and wine are tasted along the way.
