- Triestino Nativity Museum
Description
The museum houses approximately 150 nativity scenes collected over the years, showcasing the tradition, creativity, art, and culture of Trieste. They offer a comprehensive overview of the various interpretations of the nativity in Italy and around the world. The range of materials used in their construction is vast: paper, wood, wax, polystyrene, shells, cigarette filters, cardboard, cork, terracotta, and many more. The large traditional nativity scenes with numerous movements and lighting effects are particularly interesting. A specific section of the museum is dedicated to the so-called "Triestine" nativity scenes set in a scenic context with characteristic and significant glimpses of the city and its province. The museum also has a nativity scene workshop available to all those interested in constructing the nativity scene.
